Chiropractic is a worldwide conservative spinal healthcare profession consisting of nearly 100,000 practitioners in 115 countries. It takes high school + two years of Pre-Med at University + 5 years of chiropractic school to become a Doctor. In America and Canada, a full bachelor’s degree is required before the 5-year professional training. A Chiropractor is someone you can trust with your health and the health of your children.

Chiropractors use hands-on spinal manipulation and other alternative treatments. The theory is that proper alignment of the body's musculoskeletal structure, particularly the spine, will enable the body to heal itself without surgery or medication.

Manipulation is used to restore mobility to joints restricted by tissue injury caused by a traumatic event, such as falling, or repetitive stress, such as sitting without proper back support.

Doctors of Chiropractic (DCs) care for patients of all ages, with a variety of health conditions. They are especially well known for their expertise in caring for patients with back pain, neck pain and headaches using their highly skilled manipulations or chiropractic adjustments.

DCs also care for patients with a wide range of injuries and disorders of the musculoskeletal system, which includes the muscles, ligaments, and joints. These painful conditions may involve or impact the nervous system, which can cause referred pain and dysfunction distant to the region of injury. In addition, chiropractors offer advice to patients on diet, nutrition, exercise, healthy habits, and occupational and lifestyle modification.

Traditional, more interventional, treatments like surgery can have long-term and serious side effects. With chiropractic care, the side effects, if any, maybe a bit of soreness that is usually gone within a day. Typically, side effects may include minor soreness in the area of treatment.

Conservative care as a whole–a theory that is at the foundation of chiropractic care–strives to offer treatments such as chiropractic care and other exercises or treatments that have few or no side effects for patients. Then the healthcare team can gauge their effectiveness to manage the pain condition. If little progress is seen, then and only then will a doctor who practices conservative care begin to tap into more traditional treatments

Good chiropractors do everything in their power to help their patients feel better as fast as possible with as few chiropractic treatments as necessary, ultimately reducing care to an as-needed follow-up plan. They also advise on how to avoid future problems by evaluating lifestyle activities, ergonomics, posture, orthotics, and/or diet.

Chiropractic manipulation is a highly controlled procedure that rarely causes discomfort because minimal force and gentle pressure are used. Most patients feel relief immediately following treatment. Any reported soreness after an initial adjustment has been described as similar to that associated with starting a new exercise program. Drinking plenty of water, using an ice pack, and engaging in light stretching after your first visit can help ease any discomfort and promote healing.
